MA Opera Directing: How to Apply

For entry to the MA Opera Directing course, you must apply via UCAS Conservatoires. This service allows you apply to more than one conservatoire, track the progress of your application online and see details of auditions and decisions. There is a one-off fee of £26 to use UCAS Conservatoires.

The UCAS Conservatoires Institution Code for the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is R59 and the Course Code for the MA Opera Directing is 750F.

 

Application Dates

Applications open 16 July 2020
Applications close 1 October 2020

 

We will continue to accept applications after the closing date, but they will be treated as late. Please contact our Admissions Team before submitting a late application to check whether we still have vacancies.

 

Audition Fees

There is an audition fee of £63.

We are committed to providing access to training for the most talented students, regardless of background or financial means. Our fee waiver policy is designed to support applicants for whom their financial circumstances may be a barrier to auditioning.

 

Audition Dates

For applications received by the closing date, auditions will be held in October 2020. For late applications (received after the closing date), auditions are likely to be held during spring 2021, but only if vacancies are still available.

Your allocated audition date and time will be sent to you via email. We will also update your account on the UCAS Conservatoires website with this information.

Scholarships

Please note that only applicants who apply by the closing date and audition in the autumn will be considered for a scholarship. Applicants auditioning via recording, must submit their recorded audition by 1 November 2020 to be considered for a scholarship.
