Matt Rogerson

Matt has over 25 years’ experience working across technical theatre, systems design and digital production environments. He specialises in creating technical systems that support live performance and teaching, helping teams work more efficiently across complex spaces.

A graduate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Matt has built his career across production, technical leadership and design, with a focus on connecting creative practice and technology.

Matt’s work focuses on technical systems for live performance, rehearsal spaces and teaching environments. He specialises in lighting control, audiovisual systems and digital infrastructure.

He has developed and delivered bespoke systems for equipment management, learning spaces and live streaming. His approach centres on making technical workflows more efficient, accessible and reliable, supporting both production teams and students.

At the College, Matt led the development of stock management systems that support day-to-day equipment planning, and designed much of the digital infrastructure used across teaching and rehearsal spaces. During the pandemic, he played a key role in delivering the College’s digital strategy, including upgrades to enable blended learning and the creation of a dedicated streaming suite for live performance capture and broadcast.

Alongside his work in education, Matt is an AV Design Consultant at Charcoalblue, where he has delivered audiovisual systems for a range of international projects, including performance venues and corporate environments for global technology companies.
