Katy Morison

Katy is an experienced lighting designer working across the UK in theatre, opera, dance and live performance. Based in Cardiff, she has built strong relationships with major theatres and directors across Wales. She has designed for Sherman Theatre, Theatr Clwyd, Theatr Iolo, National Theatre Wales, Bristol Old Vic, Sheffield Theatres, Fuel Theatre, Watermill Theatre and Storyhouse Chester, among others.

In 2004, she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Stage Management and Technical Theatre at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and went on to begin her career as a technician at Sherman Theatre. She was part of the lighting team for seven years, while also teaching and supervising at the College, before becoming a freelance lighting designer in 2012.

Katy has also worked as an associate designer and relighter for a range of leading lighting designers, and has extensive touring experience across Wales and the UK.
