Geinor is an experienced and passionate theatre director, producer and playwright from Wales. She became Artistic Director of Theatr na nÓg in 1998 and has since directed more than 30 productions for children and young people, alongside 10 productions for general audiences.
Geinor specialises in writing original plays for young audiences and directing plays and musicals in both Welsh and English. She produces work ranging from small-scale to large-scale theatre and musical productions.
Her practice is rooted in collaboration, with a strong focus on developing new writing and building creative partnerships. She is particularly interested in work that grows new audiences for theatre and supports accessible, engaging storytelling.
Geinor was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2019. She was also named Creative of the Year at the inaugural Cultural Impact Awards. Her musical Operation Julie was named one of The Stage’s top shows in 2022, and Eye of the Storm won Best Show for Children at the Theatre Wales Awards in 2019.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, she curated 16 online projects including radio plays, films, play readings and networking sessions for freelance artists and technicians. This work received an Arts and Business Award.
She has written 15 plays for Theatr na nÓg, including Operation Julie, The Fight and Romjul.
