Having captivated audiences at the London Jazz Festival and featured on Cerys Matthews’ BBC 6 Music show, Sinfonia Cymru are making Songs for the Earth bigger than ever, with an expanded ensemble, featuring strings, harp and percussion.

Award-winning saxophonist and composer Josephine Davies brings her dynamic ensemble Satori to RWCMD to celebrate the launch of ‘Weatherwards’, their fourth album on Whirlwind Recordings. The music is inspired by Josephine’s Nordic roots in the Shetland Islands and beautifully weaves together the band’s contemporary jazz background with a hauntingly evocative folk influence.

Together with pianist Kit Downes, one of Britain's finest and most versatile vocal talents and lyricists, Norma Winstone will bring her poetic sensibilities to new pieces by Downes as well as compositions by Carla Bley, Ralph Towner, and John Taylor.
