Biography

Dan graduated as a repetiteur from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2005 and is much in demand as a choral conductor, piano accompanist, musical director and workshop leader. Specialising in opera for young audiences or performers; he is the musical director for Welsh National Opera’s Youth Opera 10-18, and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s Schools Opera project.

Expertise

He regularly leads workshops and performances for families, people living with dementia, in SEND and mainstream schools, and with those affected by homelessness as a workshop leader for Streetwise Opera. He is a keen composer of music for young singers and his commission Beekind was performed by over 500 school children as part of Welsh National Opera’s Freedom season.

He is an alumnus of Live Music Now and was made an associate of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in 2018.
