This far-reaching programme has been designed to offer a
comprehensive range of performance activities combined with
opportunities to discover complementary new skills that will help
you establish a successful career as a professional musician.
One-to-one lessons focus on the development of your repertoire,
technical skills and musical confidence. Strings, brass, wind and
voice students have an additional allocation of time with a
professional accompanist or coach. Group classes concentrate on
presentation skills, orchestral or band repertoire, ensemble work
and performance practice. There are a range of specialist classes
for students of composition and creative music technology.
Professional work placements are an increasingly important feature
of the course, helping you create useful employment networks and
build your CV. The range of opportunities reflects the diversity of
the music profession covering performance, studio work, events
management, broadcasting, teaching and community outreach. There
are also opportunities to study for three months at one of the
College’s European partner conservatoires.
