National Open Youth Orchestra in Cardiff

The National Open Youth Orchestra (NOYO) is the world’s first disabled-led national youth ensemble, promoting musical excellence and giving some of the UK’s most talented young disabled and non-disabled musicians a progression route.

About the orchestra

National Open Youth Orchestra musicians, aged 11-25, rehearse and perform together as members of a pioneering inclusive ensemble.

Participation in the National Open Youth Orchestra is free, and NOYO members will be supported to develop their musical potential with monthly rehearsals, one-to-one tuition and concerts.

Rehearsals at the Cardiff NOYO Centre at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama will start in September 2023.

They will also come together with musicians from other NOYO Centres in London, Bristol, Birmingham and Bournemouth for a yearly residential, and whole ensemble concerts from Spring 2024.

Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and BBC National Orchestra of Wales are proud to be partners of the National Open Youth Orchestra.
