Biography

Geoff Moore studied Fine Art at Newcastle and Leeds Colleges of Art before starting in theatre at the original Traverse in Edinburgh. He made choreographic pieces for Ballet Rambert and London School of Contemporary Dance prior to founding Moving Being to explore work in mixed disciplines. The Company combined actors, dancers, musicians and filmmakers, and is acknowledged as pioneering in the use of technology in theatre.

Expertise

Moving to Wales, the Company was based at Chapter Arts Centre for ten years before establishing their own base in Cardiff Docks’ St Stephens Theatre Space, which it ran for a further decade. Geoff Moore was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel and study in the US; Moving Being becoming the first Wales based company to perform at the National Theatre. He has also directed television drama for HTV and BBC Wales. At RWCMD, Geoff Moore lectures in History of Art, History of Theatre, and the Moving Image, incorporating dance and cinema.

Notable Achievements

In 2018 he gained a PhD from the University of South Wales.
