Biography

Elliot Bennett is a UK based Drummer, Clinician and educator. He has performed in plethora of musical situations and genres, working with the likes of UK number 1 selling artist Sian Evans (formally known as Kosheen), The Breath (BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2019 Folk Singer of the Year), Stuart McCallum (Cinematic Orchestra), Jim Mullen, Bobby Shew, Keith Tippett to name but a few. Similarly, his rhythmical touch can be heard on BBC wildlife documentaries from Michael Portillo’s ‘Portillo goes wild in Spain’, through to the Natural Worlds ‘Ella, a Meerkats tale’.

Expertise

Slowly Rolling Camera is a project that Elliot has been involved in since 2015. Since 2013 SRC have carved a path for themselves as one of the rising stars of the European Jazz scene. They have performed internationally, supporting heavy weights such as the Robert Glasper Experiment, Maceo Parker and Chick Corea. Signed to Edition records, their highly anticipated fourth album is due out next year.

Elliot has been a tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama since 2005, of both the bachelor and master’s degree students. Similarly, he is head of drums at the University of South Wales teaching on both the BA and BMus undergraduate degree courses and drum tutor at Cardiff University.

Notable Achievements

Elliot has been asked to present his ideas at various drum clinics, opening up for some of the world’s best drummers. Some of which include Steve Smith (Journey), Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake & Palmer), Ian Thomas (Seal, Eric Clapton), Chad Smith (RHCP), Terry Bozzio (Frank Zappa) and Jo Jo Mayer.
