Desmond Clifford

Desmond Clifford worked as a BBC journalist and news producer for a decade before becoming a civil servant. He worked for the Welsh Office in Whitehall before returning to Wales with devolution. He was present in the RWCMD on the night in 1997 when Wales chose self-government through devolution. He spent a number of years in Brussels as Welsh Government representative to the European Union before returning to Cardiff to take a series of roles supporting the First Minister and Welsh Government, until his retirement in 2025.
