Short biography

Connor Fogel studied piano at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and completed a master's degree in musical direction at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. He enjoys a varied career as a musical director for theatre, concert pianist and musicologist.

Notable achievements

Connor has received several prizes and awards, including second prize in the 2019 International Liszt Society Piano Competition and the 2016 Musical Director Award from The Worshipful Company of Musicians. He became a Freeman of the Company in 2022 and was granted the Freedom of the City of London in 2026.

His album Rediscovering Liszt, featuring historically informed recreations of recital programmes performed by Liszt, was released by Prima Facie Records in 2026. He has written extensively on historically informed performance for The Liszt Society, presented at international music conferences, and performs regularly in recitals, concerts, festivals, theatre productions and cabaret performances throughout the UK and internationally.

Connor is an Honorary Associate of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and was previously the Andrew Lloyd Webber Associate Musical Director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Alongside teaching at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, he also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music, ArtsEd and Italia Conti.
