These showcase evenings will play host to a brilliant line-up of artists including Welsh musicians Huw Warren and Angharad Jenkins, who’ll present their new duo project ‘The Gower Nightingale / Eos Gwyr’ which explores musical traditions, identity and language with a focus on the Gower and Swansea where both musicians grew up. Some of the most promising undergraduate singers from UK conservatoires will compete for the accolade of becoming the first winner of the Sir Bryn Terfel Song Prize. One of the world’s most esteemed opera singers and RWCMD’s Vice President, Sir Bryn is passionate about his cultural heritage and the artistry of song. This competition aims to celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity with each competitor performing from the great canon of artsong, songs from their own heritage and a song in Welsh. Bryn will chair the international panel of expert judges from the world of vocal music and opera.
