EventCory BandOne of the world’s most awarded brass bands returns to its Cardiff home for an unmissable evening of music at RWCMD, where Cory proudly holds the position of Brass Band in Residence. Led by their inspirational Musical Director Philip Harper, Cory will perform a bold and varied programme that includes timeless brass band classics, music from the films of John Williams, and showstopping solos from the band’s principal players – some of the finest brass musicians in the world. The evening also features a special appearance by the next generation of brass talent, taking to the stage after a day of workshops with Cory band & RWCMD performers. One of the world’s most esteemed opera singers and RWCMD’s Vice President, Sir Bryn is passionate about his cultural heritage and the artistry of song. This competition aims to celebrate cultural and linguistic diversity with each competitor performing from the great canon of artsong, songs from their own heritage and a song in Welsh. Bryn will chair the international panel of expert judges from the world of vocal music and opera.

EventClaire Booth & Ensemble 360: Berio Folk SongsEnsemble 360 and Claire Booth, who have forged a dynamic partnership through their performances of Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire together, now turn their attention to Berio's quirky and intriguing Folk Songs in the composer's centenary year. Indeed, folk influences pervade the whole programme, from Rebecca Clarke's pastoral-tinged duo for clarinet and viola and Katherine Hoover’s evocation of the Hopi people to Ravel's sultry, sun-drenched pictures of Madagascar.
