UTSAV - International Festival for Indian Performing Arts in Wales returns with an extraordinary evening celebrating the richness of Indian classical arts. Experience a mesmerising Bharatanatyam performance by world-renowned dancing diva Priyadarsini Govind, followed by a soulful Carnatic music concert by the acclaimed vocalist Chaitra Sairam. Priyadarsini Govind is one of India’s most celebrated Bharatanatyam artistes, acclaimed for her exceptional artistry, expressive abhinaya and deep commitment to tradition in a contemporary world.
A former Director of the Kalakshetra Foundation, she is also the founder of NavaDarshana, an initiative dedicated to holistic dance education and artistic exploration. Her acclaimed works, including the dance-on-film Yavanika, have toured internationally, inspiring audiences worldwide. Recipient of the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award and the “Nritya Kalanidhi” title from The Music Academy Madras, Priyadarsini Govind continues to shape generations of dancers through performance, mentorship and innovative pedagogy.Chaitrra Sairam is a distinguished Carnatic vocalist, educator and music therapist who has trained under the renowned Bombay Jayashri since 2001.
An ‘A’ Grade artiste of All India Radio, Chennai, she has performed at prestigious venues across India and internationally, earning critical acclaim for her soulful musicianship. Alongside her concert career, Chaitrra is deeply committed to music education and community engagement through Hitham Trust, working extensively with children with special needs. With qualifications in psychotherapy, counselling and music therapy, she also leads CHINTHAN – Music Healing, an initiative offering therapeutic music sessions that explore the healing power of music for mind and body.
