Biography

Ryan is a Welsh guitarist and composer who has been involved in self-led and collaborative projects that have sold records internationally. He has performed widely, including St David’s Hall Festival of Remembrance, Dubai Opera and Cambridge Rock Festival.

As a composer, Ryan has created electronic works using field recordings and modular synthesisers, chamber works including commissions by Ty Cerdd and music for media including Disability Sports Wales awards ceremony and the acclaimed children’s book Bottled. Ryan also spends time collaborating with other artists as a music producer and mixing engineer.

Ryan started his musical career as a performing guitarist and graduated from the Academy of Contemporary Music in 2014 with a first-class honours in Professional Music Performance.

From 2016, Ryan taught music in a primary and secondary school in Dubai, before attaining his master's degree in composition with distinction at RWCMD in 2022. After graduating, Ryan joined the composition department as a studio technician and tutor in creative music technology.

Ryan is a tutor in creative music technology with extensive experience in recording technologies, music production, project management and live performance. Ryan is passionate about helping students achieve their creative goals and enabling them to bring their musical ideas to life.

Notable Achievements

In late 2022, Ryan released his solo album ‘Head Above Water’. His music has been sold internationally and has been featured on radio stations such as Exile FM.
