Biography

Owen Lloyd is a composer, sound artist, designer and researcher with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration that integrates art, science and technology. He is a Research Fellow at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama – the national conservatoire of Wales – where he has been teaching composition since 2012.

His work has been performed and/or presented internationally, including at Fact Liverpool, Goldsmiths, The Bartlett, Oxford Brookes University, University of the West of England, Bath Spa University, Concordia University, Braunschweig Film Festival, and featured as part of Milan Fashion Week. Exhibitions of his work include Exeter Phoenix and Acud Macht Neu, Berlin.

Notable Achievements

Owen’s long commercial career as a freelance composer and sound designer has seen work on award-winning projects, delivered across a variety of media including film, TV, architectural installations, museum exhibits and games consoles. His clients include Adidas, The BBC, BMW, IBM, Leica, Sony, The NHS, Red Bull, The Science Museum and Sony.

His PhD in Sonic Art was completed in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. Joseph Hyde, Dr. Andy Keep and Prof. James Saunders.
