Biography

David Doidge is Chorus Master at Welsh National Opera.

At Welsh National Opera, David has worked on many productions with internationally acclaimed conductors such as Carlo Rizzi, Lothar Köenigs, Tomáš Hanus, Ainars Rubikis and Andriy Yurkevich.

Expertise

A regular artist in Wales, his UK appearances include performances at the Wigmore Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, St Martin in-the-Fields, Leeds Lieder Festival, and the Edinburgh International Festival.

Further afield he has appeared in Los Angeles, Oman, Abu Dhabi, Ischia and the Netherlands. Concert and recital partners include Sir Bryn Terfel, Rebecca Evans, Nuccia Focile, Gwyn Hughes Jones, Lesley Garrett, Alfie Boe and Trystan Llyr Griffiths.

David is a vocal coach and assistant conductor for National Youth Arts Wales and is also a visiting coach for the Opera School and Vocal department at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.

Notable Achievements

David has featured in many recordings and live broadcasts for BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and BBC Radio Wales, as well as television appearances with Sir Bryn Terfel, Katherine Jenkins, and Connie Fisher for the BBC network.
