Lucy Stout, former Director of Development, to become a Vice President of RWCMD
Lucy will join the College as a Vice President, an advocate, a trusted adviser and a powerful champion for our ambitions. She joins the College’s other Vice Presidents who include Sir Anthony Hopkins, Michael Sheen, Sir Bryn Terfel and Professor Uzo Iwobi.
Lucy brings a wealth of experience from a long and distinguished career in arts development at director level for some of the UK’s most significant cultural organisations, including the National Theatre in London, Welsh National Opera and Artes Mundi.
This experience was evident during her 13 years at the College, when she transformed our fundraising, strengthened and expanded our supporter community, led major campaigns and events, and secured key investment in the redevelopment of the Old Library.
Her appointment as Vice President recognises not only her extraordinary professional contribution, but also the deep and lasting connection she has with our community.
‘I am truly honoured to be joining such an eminent group of Vice Presidents, whom I greatly admire for their talents and for what they have achieved in their own fields.
It means a great deal to me that the arts development profession has been recognised among them because, while working all my life as a facilitator, often behind the scenes or invisible, my passion has always been for what artistic endeavour can produce and bring to the world.
As a Vice President my commitment to this will continue and I am looking forward to doing what I can to help the College and its inspiring young community to flourish creatively and to have a powerful impact on people, places and lives.’Lucy StoutRWCMD Vice President
As Vice President, Lucy will particularly champion our case for support across its key capital and revenue projects, including our David Rowe-Beddoe Shakespeare Prize and Cronfa Syr Bryn Terfel among others, and her continued involvement will bring invaluable support and confidence as we look forward.
