Our Giant Cardboard Sculptures exhibition is back, even bigger than before! Incredible creations from our theatre designers in our annual exhibition.
2026 marks the centenary of the 1926 Welsh miners' strike, a summer of hardship and solidarity immortalised in Idris Davies' poem An Angry Summer. The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama is to be part of the commemoration. Created from recycled paper and cardboard, these sculptures celebrate the pit ponies that worked alongside Welsh miners underground. Following their exhibition in the College Gallery, a selection of the horses will travel to Maesteg Town Hall as part of the centenary events.
