Biography

Celia Craig is an award-winning oboist, synesthete, and coach. Former Principal Oboe of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (2011–18) and Principal Cor Anglais with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, she is the 2025–26 Biennial Artist in South Australia and was Creative Arts Fellow at the National Library of Australia in 2024. She founded the prize-winning label Artaria and tours nationally with synesthesia-inspired projects.

Expertise

A lifelong synesthete, Celia perceives sound as colour, shaping her bold collaborations and improvisations. She is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (LRAM) and a qualified neurodiversity coach through Guildhall’s EMCC-accredited program Ignite. Her work spans orchestral leadership, chamber music, recording, education, and lived-experience advocacy.
