RWCMD Wind Orchestra

The central piece in today's programme showcases two RWCMD woodwind alumni in the roles of composer and soloist. Simon Milton's Clarinet Concerto receives its world premiere performance, with BBC NOW's Will White taking centre stage as soloist. Either side of this we explore works by two masters of the orchestra who were also attracted to the sonic possibilities of the military band. Vaughan Williams gets us off to a spirited start with Paul Hindemith's Symphony, a classic of the repertoire, providing the concert's dazzling finale.
