Rhys Meilyr Jones

Anglesey born, Rhys Meilyr will make his debut as an Alvarez Young Artist at Garsington Opera this summer. He has worked with various other Opera Companies such as WNO, Longborough Festival Opera and Opra Cymru.

Rhys completed his MA Performance degree at the Royal Academy of Music, London.

His most notable engagement was singing at Buckingham Palace to celebrate the 50th anniversary of investiture of HRH Prince Charles (now King Charles III), amongst The Royal Family and other distinguished guests.

He is also the Welsh voice over for the character ‘Noddy’, being played on the Welsh program S4C.

Rhys’ studies at the college are supported by the Leverhulme Trust Arts Scholarship, the Robert Maskrey Scholarship, The Kathleen Trust and a RWCMD Scholarship.
