Rhys Archer

Year of graduation: 2025

Rhys Archer, a tenor from North Wales, recently completed his master’s degree in Vocal Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he was awarded the Adelina Patti Prize for Bel Canto Singing. His operatic roles include Remendado (Carmen), Orpheus (Orpheus et Eurydice), and Gherardo (Gianni Schicchi, cover). On the concert platform, Rhys has appeared as tenor soloist in Mozart’s Vespers and Janáček’s Otče náš. Alongside his operatic work, Rhys has a deep passion for Welsh music and is a regular performer on both local and national Eisteddfod stages.

Recent engagements include Basilio (Le nozze di Figaro) and Snout (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, RWCMD).

Rhys’s studies are supported by the RathUnderwood Scholarship and the Leverhulme Arts Scholarship.
