Biography

Lucie Sprague is second Principal Oboe at the orchestra of Welsh National Opera. She began learning the oboe at her local music service in West Berkshire and then went to the Purcell School of Music for her A levels, where she studied with Melanie Ragge. Lucie completed her undergraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music and her master’s degree at the Royal College of Music which included an ERASMUS year at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris.

Expertise

Prior to joining WNO, Lucie was based in London and regularly freelanced with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Aurora Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.
