About
The culmination of the day’s events includes music from two great friends, Francis Poulenc and Benjamin Britten. Bound together by the incredible slow-burning swirl of Ligeti’s Hora Lunga for solo viola. Poulenc’s Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano opens the concert and Britten’s nocturnal Serenade for Tenor Horn and String with soloists James Gilchrist and Ben Goldscheider brings the evening to a reflective close.
