Tomos Owen Jones

Year of graduation: 2025

Welsh tenor and composer Tomos Owen Jones is in his first year of study at the David Seligman Opera School, having graduated with Distinction from the MMus Composer-Performer course at the RWCMD. Tomos' vocal highlights have included performances with Welsh National Opera and at the Tête-à-Tête Opera Festival, and recent competition successes include the Dorothy Davies Ingram Award, the Manning Prize for Tenors and the Adelina Patti Prize for Bel Canto singing. Tomos' compositions have been premiered by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, The National Eisteddfod, Atmospheres Festival Cardiff and Leeds Lieder, and he was winner of the WNO-RWCMD Composition Competition in 2021.

Tomos’ studies at Opera School have been generously supported by the Karl Daymond Scholarship, the Leverhulme Trust Arts Scholarship, the Robert Maskrey Scholarship and a RWCMD Scholarship.

Recent engagements: L'Aumonier, Dialogues of the Carmelites (RWCMD); Semyon, Cherry Town Moscow (WNO Young Company); Musical Director, Hansel and Gretel (May Street Opera).
