Year of graduation: 2024

Hailing from Scotland, mezzo-soprano Kira Charleton will make her debut with Opera Holland Park for their 2024 production of Tosca (Puccini) and semi-staged, Edgar (Puccini).

She is the winner of the Eileen Price Lieder Prize, the Mabel Linwood Christopher Award and the Harlequin Agency Award.

In 2022, Kira performed with WNYO, singing chorus and covering the role of Masha in Cherry Town, Moscow (Shostakovich). Other operatic roles include Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Mother Marie in The Dialogue of the Carmelites (Poulenc) and The Duchess of Monteblanco in A Dinner Engagement (Berkeley).

Kira’s studies at the college are supported by the Peter and Janet Swinburn Scholarship, the Janet Price Scholarship and the Black Heart Foundation.
