Beethoven arr. Liszt:
Symphony No. 6 'Pastoral'
Fauré: Barcarolle No. 1 in A minor, Op.
Fauré: Barcarolle No. 3 in Gb, Op.
Ravel: Gaspard de la Nuit
A concert with a difference from the superb
young German virtuoso Joseph Moog – Gramophone’s 2015
Young Artist of the Year. The second half is pure fantasy, as he
enters the very Gallic imagination of Gabriel Fauré and Maurice
Ravel. But first comes Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony – complete
with shepherds, birds and thunderstorm – in an astonishing piano
version by Franz Liszt. Hearing is believing.
