Course Directors: Donald Maxwell and Angela Livingstone (Head of Opera and Vocal Performance)

Suitable for students about to commence undergraduate studies at a conservatoire or university, and enthusiastic amateur singers of all ages. Join international opera star Donald Maxwell, and Angela Livingstone for an intensive yet fun introduction to the world of opera.

You will develop your skills in acting, singing in a foreign language, performing as part of an ensemble and working with a conductor. The course culminates in an informal studio show-back on Friday 4th August.

It is expected that you will have had some experience of formal voice tuition and have a basic understanding of singing technique. You will also be asked to prepare some musical extracts (hopefully from memory!) prior to the week’s course.
