About Paula Gardiner – Originally trained in
guitar and flute at RWCMD, Paula Gardiner took up double bass at
the age of 27 in order to explore her love of jazz and improvised
music. On top of several large commissions, broadcast on Radios 3
and 4, and the development of jazz composition for new theatre,
Paula continues to place a strong emphasis on live performance,
appearing regularly on the club and festival scenes, both in the UK
and abroad. She is Honorary President of Women in Jazz, a founder
member of Wales Jazz Composer and Head of Jazz at the Royal Welsh
College of Music & Drama.
