Ages 16 – 20

Considering going to drama school? Want to find out what life is like in the UK’s number one drama school (Guardian 2019)?

An exciting new collaboration between Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Taking Flight Theatre will combine drama school training alongside the work of one of Cardiff’s most exciting inclusive theatre companies.

This summer school will give you three days of intensive workshops exploring skills, texts and creative approaches to theatre making. This course has been specifically designed to give young actors an insight into the day to life in a drama school and introduce you to a range of theatre skills that will help you gain confidence and experience for the future.

No previous experience is required, just a passion for theatre and performance. We are very keen to hear from applicants from under-represented groups in higher education, especially physically disabled, D/deaf and sensory impaired people, as well as people from a BAME background. You will be working closely with RWCMD’s staff and Taking Flight’s Artistic Director, Elise Davison towards a sharing of your work to family and friends at the end of the 3 days of workshops.

Time: 10am – 4pm
Venue: Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama
Course Fee: £180
Deposit: £20
