Auditioning for Drama School: Process, Preparation and Masterclass

This course is ideal for anyone considering applying to drama school and is looking for a valuable insight into the audition process.

As well as sampling life at the UK’s number one drama school (Guardian 2019) this four-day course will focus on a different aspect of the audition process each day, working with specialist tutors from our BA Acting course and Young Actors Studio. It will be ideal preparation for those young people considering applying to RWCMD or other leading drama schools, giving participants the chance to gain an important insight into the very competitive world of drama school audition process, including:

  • advice on monologue choice
  • practical approaches to rehearsing material
  • individual feedback on your audition work
  • coaching and advice from RWCMD audition panel members
  • Audition Masterclass with senior RWCMD Tutor

 

Day 1 Introduction – Dos and don’ts – Improvisation – Building Confidence
Day 2 Approaches to contemporary monologues
Day 3 Approaches to classical monologues
Day 4 Audition Masterclass

 

Do I need to prepare?

Participants must prepare two speeches (one contemporary and one classical) each lasting no more than 2 minutes – please get in touch if you have any questions.
