Jack Bowtell & Conal Bembridge-Sayers - Baritone &
Baritone Jack Bowtell currently studies with renowned tenor,
Adrian Thompson, at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
Jack has had the opportunity to sing in many prestigious venues
across Europe including Basilica di San Marco (Venice), The
Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia (Barcelona), Santa
Maria de Montserrat (Barcelona), Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Chartres
(Chartres) and Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. Recent performance
highlights have included Elgar’s The Dream of Gerontius, conducted
by Sir Simon Rattle and performed by the CBSO Youth Chorus and the
Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra as part of the 2015 BBC Proms season
at the Royal Albert Hall, and being a chorus member in Verdi’s
Falstaff conducted by Carlo Rizzi. In July 2016, Jack sang
his first major operatic role as Willi in Welsh National Youth
Opera’s critically acclaimed production of Kommilitonen!
by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies.
Pianist and conductor Conal Bembridge-Sayers has received
numerous prizes for his playing, including the Roderick Bryson
Memorial Award, Sam Hutchings Pianist Prize, Simon Clarkson
Memorial Award for outstanding all-round musicianship, Gregynog
Young Accompanist Prize, and was finalist in the Junior Kathleen
Ferrier Accompanist Prize. Conal is currently Junior Répétiteur
Fellow at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Official
Accompanist of the Gregynog Young Musician Competition, and
Principal Conductor of Orchestra Caritas. Recent performances
include recitals at the Leeds Lieder Festival, Edinburgh Festival,
Ludlow English Song Festival, Powerdow Castle, St Martin’s in the
Field, Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall, and St David’s Hall, in
addition to regular engagements with Welsh National Opera,
Winterbourne Opera, and the National Gilbert and Sullivan Company.
Conal has also had the privilege to receive invitations to perform
for HRH Prince of Wales, and Dame Shirley Bassey.
During their short time working together, Jack and Conal have
had the pleasure of performing in masterclasses for several notable
singing teachers and tutors including: Kathryn Harries, Donald
Maxwell, Susanne Murphy, Joseph Middleton and Simon Lepper.
