Erin Alexander

Erin Alexander - Soprano

Award winning soprano Erin Alexander is currently studying for her MMus under the tuition of Gail Pearson. Erin was delighted to gain a place on the Hire a Performer scheme; her recital capabilities mean she has performed at numerous high-status functions, weddings, and corporate events in prestigious venues such as The Savoy Hotel in London, the Virginia McKenna Born Free Foundation Gala at Goodwood House in Sussex, and for Her Majesty the Queen’s 90th Birthday Gala at the British Embassy in Romania. Most recently her extensive recital and oratorio experience allowed her the confidence to stand in at the last minute for Catherine Bott performing Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.

Soon after moving to Cardiff to study her Masters, Erin received a Choral Scholarship Award from the BBC National Chorus of Wales, with which she regularly performs in St David’s Hall and live on BBC Radio 3. At the same time she was also selected to become the first ever recipient of the Cooper Hall Emerging Artists Bursary Award.

Described by Assistant Director at Royal Opera House, Greg Eldridge as "A real spark on stage", Erin has explored the operatic roles of Adele in Die Fledermaus, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Micaela in Carmen, and 2nd Lady in Die Zauberflote. Erin’s versatility means she is also a celebrated music theatre performer, and after winning the University of Chichester Sondheim Song Competition, she was invited by Julian Kelly to feature on a new cast recording of Malby and Shire’s Song Cycle Starting Here, Starting Now.
