Atomus Quartet - String Quartet

The Atomus Quartet is a string quartet from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, featuring Chloe Baker, Julia Palmer, Flora Farquharson and Bryony Rawstron. Formed in 2018, they have played together in various ensembles over the three years they have been at RWCMD making a huge contribution to ensemble projects, within and outside of college, individually playing in ensembles such as RWCMD String Soloists with Nicola Benedetti and Pieter Wispelway, principal leaders of sections in RWCMD Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Summer Opera projects.

The Atomus Quartet have received coaching from The Albion Quartet, The Emerson Quartet, The Castallian Quartet and many other tutors from RWCMD, such as Alex Thorndike and Dorothea Vogel. Chloe Baker was also recently awarded with the Bridgewood & Neitzert Bach Solo Prize by members of The Albion Quartet.

They have also individually performed at prestigious venues and events such as the Royal Albert Hall, Windsor Castle, St Martin in the fields, Cadogan Hall, Wigmore Hall, Festival Hall Southbank Centre, Grieg Concert Hall, World Economic Forum Davos, Barcelona Cathedral and Szcecin Philharmonic Hall.
