Take Your Seat

Take Your Seat

...and help our students take their place

Name a seat in one of our beautiful venues for yourself, in memory of a loved one, to mark a special occasion or as an unforgettable gift for a music or theatre-lover in your life...

Since the opening of our award-winning facilities in 2011, the Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall and the Richard Burton Theatre have become much-loved venues which now form part of a thriving arts scene in Wales and attract leading international artists from across the world.

Your personal dedication (made in your own name, as a gift or on behalf of a group or company) will be engraved onto a plaque and attached to the seat of your choice for a minimum of 15 years.

All donations through Take Your Seat will contribute to our Bursary Fund, helping the next generation of performing artists to take their place at the College, fulfil their promise and to make their mark as you make yours on one of Cardiff’s most beautiful buildings.

Our Dora Stoutzker Hall, named by Sir Ian Stoutzker for his mother who was a piano and singing teacher from Tredegar, is the only purpose-built chamber recital hall in Wales. Greatly admired by musicians and audiences alike, the beauty and world class acoustic of “the Dora” inspires and showcases the musical performances of our young artists while also attracting internationally renowned professionals to perform on its stage and work with our students every year. A rich and diverse programme keeps the hall in use all year round including for international competitions such as BBC Young Musician and BBC Cardiff Singer of the World.

This intimate courtyard theatre, named after one of Wales’ greatest actors, is home to our very own in-house repertory company – the Richard Burton Company. A bronze bust of Burton, gifted to the College by his former wife, the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor, stands outside its doors and was unveiled by his daughter, Kate Burton, during the opening of the theatre.
