In The Blood

A Richard Burton Company production. A new production from the resident director of Hamilton (London), Lekan Lawal.

The Story:

“We was making ends meet all right, then, ends got further apart.”

Hester La Negrita has five children, each from different, and notably absent, fathers. They live in destitute poverty beneath a bridge, where Hester tries to learn how to read and goes hungry so that her children can eat.

Mixing poetry and song, this drama exposes the conflict between human desire and self-interest.
