Deborah Light

Movement Tutor

Deborah Light graduated from the Laban Centre London in 2001 and is a Cardiff based independent dance artist. Her performance practice spans theatre, site specific, installation, image and video based work and her choreographic work has been presented and commissioned both nationally and internationally. In 2009 she was the recipient of a Creative Wales award, in 2010 she was selected as one of the Place Prize semi-finalists and in 2011 Deborah was one of two choreographers representing the UK in the international development project ChoreoRoam, supported by the Place. Deborah has worked collaboratively and performed for Jem Treays, Sean Tuan John, Theatre Iolo, Welsh Independent Dance, Sherman Cymru, Diversions Dance House, Institute of Crazy Dancing and Polish Dance Theatre. Deborah has taught dance and movement for a wide range of ages and abilities and is one of RWCMD Young Actors Studio’s team of Movement Tutors and is also employed by Senior College as a Movement Tutor.
