Maconchy String Quartet No. 3

Tamsin Waley-Cohen violin
Emma Parker violin

Nathaniel Boyd cello

Four outstanding young players, led by virtuoso violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and united by a shared commitment to “the visceral, communicative power of the string quartet”, the Albion Quartet is one of Britain’s freshest – and fastest rising – chamber groups. In this lunchtime concert, they match Schubert at his most songful with a powerful 20th century mini-masterpiece by Elizabeth Maconchy.
