Britten's Women

Director
David Jones Conductor
Thurs 25 - Sat 27 Mar
A new devised piece based on the work of Benjamin Britten.
A compelling journey through the mind and work of Benjamin
Britten exploring his many complex and challenging female
roles.
Taking as its theme the destructive force of love surrounding
his female characters, Britten's Women weaves together
fragments of the stories to recreate them in a contemporary form
highlighting the relevance to women today.
Charting his creation of roles such as the Governess in Turn
of the Screw and Phaedra in the cantata of the same name,
BRITTEN'S WOMEN features some of RWCMD's finest vocal
talents.
This extraordinary and unique piece of music theatre will throw
new light on Britten as a vocal and operatic composer.
