BMus (Hons) Jazz Course
Entry Requirements
Entrance onto the course is by audition. You will be expected to
demonstrate
musical ability equivalent to the standard required to gain
a Distinction at ABRSM Grade VIII.
Following success at audition, applicants will also be expected
to achieve minimum entrance qualifications which may include
A-Levels, Scottish Highers, BTEC National Diploma/Certificate, WBQ,
International Baccalaureate, Advanced GNVQ, AVCE or Advanced
Diploma (Level 3).
You should also have passed ABRSM Grade V theory or equivalent
examination.
For international students recognised equivalent qualifications
are accepted.
Candidates will also be considered who have no formal
qualifications but can demonstrate an exceptional level of
ability.
Applicants for whom English is not a first language are required
to demonstrate a level of fluency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 (with at
least 5.5 in the written component), TOEFL 550 (213 computer or
79-80 IBT).
