Living in Cardiff
Arts and Culture
The new home of performing arts in Cardiff is the spectacular
Wales Millennium Centre. The venue opened in November 2004,
bringing top theatre, dance and musical entertainment to Wales in
one of the most striking buildings designed anywhere this
century.
The Sherman and New Theatre offer mainstream and fringe
productions, opera and ballet, whilst the Cardiff Bay waterfront
hosts free concerts throughout the year.
Dr who isn't from outer space, he's from Cardiff. New episodes
of the massive sci-fi show and it's spin-off series Torchwood -
starring several former RWCMD students - have both been filmed all
around the city, so keep an eye out for the Doctor and his
foes.
For celebrities of a more gentle persuasion, look no further
than the National Gallery, which is full of works by Van Gogh,
Monet and other world-famous artists.
