Disability & Dyslexia Service
The Disability & Dyslexia Service (DDS)
offer confidential, professional advice and support to disabled
students and those with health conditions or learning difficulties.
For example, depression, diabetes, epilepsy, ME, Dyslexia and
Autistic Spectrum Disorders.
There is advice and access to:
- Disability advice and guidance
- Disabled Students Allowance (DSA)
- Dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties

- Note taking in lectures
- One to one study skills tutorial support
- Mentor support
- Support work
- Mental wellbeing support
- Personal care
- Library assistance
- Materials in accessible format
It is important that you disclose any learning difficulty,
medical condition or mental health condition on your medical
questionnaire, prior to the start of your
course.
There is funding available to access support called the Disabled
Students Allowance. The process for implementing support can be
lengthy, so it is important to start the process before starting at
RWCMD.
