Supporting RWCMD
Making a donation
If you would like to make a donation, either as a one-off or as
a regular payment, please print out and complete the Donation
Form and send it to the address below.
Gift Aid Explained
Due to changes in the tax laws as of 6 April 2000, a charitable
donation of any amount is eligible to be declared as Gift Aid. It
is available to all UK taxpayers.
As a charity, the College can recover the basic rate of tax
normally paid by the donor. This can increase the value of your
gift, as the College is able to reclaim the taxable amount (an
extra 28p for every £1 you give). For example, for a gift of
£1,000, an extra £282 can be added at no extra cost to you.
Higher Rate Taxpayers
For higher rate taxpayers, there is an added incentive to claim
tax relief for your donation against either income tax or capital
gains – you will be able to reclaim the amount that is the
difference between the basic rate, which the College can reclaim
and the higher rate of tax when you compile your Self Assessment
form.
Giving shares is also highly tax efficient. Individuals and
companies can get income or corporation tax relief on certain
shares and securities given to a charity.
Legacies
Remembering the College in your Will can enable you to support
the College in a way that might not be possible at present. It will
cost nothing in your lifetime and legacies to the College are
completely free of any Inheritance Tax.
USA-based donors
US citizens can support the College by making a tax-deductible
donation to the Charities Aid
Foundation (CAF America) or the British Schools and Universities Foundation
(BSUF).
