Venue & Room Hire
The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama has a wide range of
venues and rooms which are avaialable for hire for conferences,
events, meetings and performances or rehearsals.
These include;
- Bute Theatre (flexible seating capacity)
- Caird Studio Theatre (flexible seating capacity)
- Sir Geraint Evans Recital Room
- Meeting rooms
- Acting and Movement Studios
The campus also includes an award-winning restoration of the
former Caardif Castle mews buildings, now called the Anthony
Hopkins Centre. This building houses two modern recital rooms, the
Weston Gallery and the Corus Recital Room as well as the S4C Studio
Theatre, a Professional recording studio and a Courtyard open air
performance space
The College has also begun its £22.5
million redevelopment, due to open early in 2011. A 21st
century addition to Cardiff’s historic city centre arcades, the
development will complement the College’s existing high quality
facilities with:
- An acoustically excellent 450 capacity recital hall
- 160 seat theatre with dress circle and teaching gallery
- 4 full-sized, double height acting and movement studios
- A magnificent entrance arcade/exhibition space
- Public café bar and terrace overlooking the historic Bute
