Claudia Wood - Soprano
Five years ago, Claudia left her previous career as a Police
Officer and accepted an offer to study, with a scholarship, at
Birmingham Conservatoire. After attaining Distinction in her
Postgraduate Diploma, Claudia is now on the MMus Vocal Performance
course at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where she
studies with Gail Pearson.
Operatic engagements have included Nedda in Pagliacci
with Midland Opera Company, and she will return to this role later
this summer with Love to Sing, during Festi'val de Musique Valois,
Provence, France. Claudia has performed the role of Helena in
Midsummer Night's Dream with RWCMD as part of an Opera
Scenes project. With Birmingham Conservatoire, Claudia performed
the role of Celia in Ava's Wedding, an English Opera
Premiere. Upcoming engagements include Extra Chorus for Oper
Frankfurt during 2018.
On the concert platform, Claudia has featured as a soloist in a
charity concert attended by HRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex,
and on a separate occasion HRH Princess Alexandria. Claudia also
teaches from her business Wylye Valley Music Studio, offering
tuition in voice, piano and clarinet.
