Andrew Henley - Tenor

A tenor from Monmouth in South-East Wales, Andrew is in his second year of postgraduate study at RWCMD, where he studies with Eric Roberts.

Operatic engagements have included John Shears in Britten’s Paul Bunyan for Welsh National Youth Opera, Le Remendado and Don José (cover) in Bizet’s Carmen for Opera'r Ddraig, First Armed Man and Tamino (cover) in Mozart’s The Magic Flute for RWCMD Opera, Le Chat Noir in Ravel’s L'Enfant et des Sortilèges for Bute Park Opera and Apollo and Jupiter (cover) in Handel’s Semele for Sforza Baroque. Equally comfortable on the concert stage, engagements have included Mozart’s Requiem, Vespers, Krönungsmesse and Spatzenmesse, Handel’s Messiah, Samson and Israel in Egypt, Saint-Säens Oratorio de Nöel, Caldara’s Missa Dolorosa, Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs He is also a passionate performer of both English and Welsh folk song.
