Help and Advice in Booking a Musician

When sending us details of your requirements, it may help to consider the following:

About the Engagement
Please provide a few details of what the Engagement is, for example:

  • Harpist for Wedding Ceremony in June;
  • Jazz Band for Conference in the Hilton Hotel;
  • Soprano for concert performance of Messiah in October

Specific requirements
If you have specific requirements, please give as many details as possible of what you would like:

  • Harpist to play "Here comes the bride" and various other pieces of music during the signing of the register;
  • Band to play swing classics / funk / dinner jazz for delegates at a Healthcare conference;
  • Soprano needed for Handel's Messiah with an amateur choir. Rehearsal on the day.

Location of Engagement
Give the location of the engagement including any rehearsal venues if applicable for example:

  • Coed y Mwstwr Hotel near Bridgend;
  • The Hilton Hotel, Cardiff;
  • Llandaff Cathedral

Date and time of Engagement
Please try to be as exact as possible. If you don't have an exact date, please give your nearest approximation. Examples:

  • June 20th 2011; 2pm Ceremony, then harpist required to play until 3pm
  • Either 13th or 14th September; 7pm start until 9pm;
  • Most likely Sat 31st August. Rehearsal 2pm - 5pm, concert at 7.30pm

Budget
We will always seek to provide you with the very best musicians at affordable prices. If you know the budget available, it can sometime help us tailor the quote to meet your needs and available budget.

What happens next?
Upon receipt of your enquiry, our administrator will check the details and ackowledge your enquiry. If there are any details that aren't clear or are missing the administrator will contact you directly. If all details seem correct, we will seek to match you with a suitable musician (or musicians). We will provide a quotation for the engagement and once accepted, will ask that you liaise directly with the selected musician. At all times during the process, you are able to contact us if you have any questions on musicians@rwcmd.ac.uk.
