Vocal Graduates Star in Sondheim

Two former RWCMD students are appearing in the latest production
at the Donmar in Covent Garden.
Tim Morgan and David Thaxton, both graduates from the vocal and opera studies department, star in
Stephen Sondheim’s Passion.
An established musical theatre and opera performer, Tim has
appeared in West End and national touring musicals from the
Sound of Music to Sweeney Todd, Phantom of
the Opera to Pirates of Penzance.
And while David’s a relative newcomer, he won massive public
acclaim for his two-season stint as Enjolras in Les Misérables.
Passion, a story of desire, sacrifice and
redemption, is part of a series of events to celebrate Sondheim’s
80th birthday. “The performances are outstanding” says the
Telegraph – which is exactly what you’d expect from graduates who
have received practical, professional and performance training from
the team at the college.
For anyone else with West End aspirations, the brand-new
MA in Musical Theatre is launching in
January 2011.
